Show Dr & I attended Fast Meeting also Sunday School. We had dinner later with Cleone & family. Dr & I called to see Millie Flygare, Dr & Mrs F.W. Baker, Myrene, & Blanch and spent the evening home. A cold day. War news very incouraging on all fronts. War Fronts By United Press April 1 WESTERN FRONT Fifteenth U. S. army enters battle as wehrmacht crumbles under giant knockout blows; First U. S. army drives to within five miles of Kassel and 170 of Berlin. EASTERN FRONT Soviets capture Ratibor and Bieskau, storm into Moravian gap on road to Prague. PACIFIC Tokyo reports giant invasion armada approaching Okinawa island, 330 miles south of Japan, as U. S. air attacks continue. AIR More than 3500 allied warplanes blast enemys last big synthetic oil plant and batter communications over wide area. PHILIPPINES Americans battle through outskirts of Bacolod, capital of newly invaded Negros island. ITALY Patrols activity on land front as allied warplanes slash all rail lines facing Eighth army front. CHINA Tokyo claims Japanese attack Laohokow after capture of former U. S. air base outside city on Tuesday. SOUTHEAST ASIA British seize road and rail hub of Kyaukse, 24 miles south of Mandalay, virtually ending battle of central Burma. Tuesday, April 3 Dr & I attended memorial Service for Captain Albert Bell heed in the 4th Ward Chapel Ogden Stake. David O. McKay one of the speakers.
