Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

Wednesday, October 3 Le Mar Buckner & Miss Hale wedded Letters from Junior. Thair in Swedon on U.S. Army hospital business. Says the City Stockholm is beautiful clean & good food. Fortunate she stayed out of War. Did a lot of laundry not passiable to get help. U.S. telephone lines tied up by Strike. Utah not affected yet. Thursday, October 4 I have spent today iorning. Beautiful weather. Avon writes that L.A. is having hottest weather ever recorded it this time of year. Taylor Peery is expected home from over seas and may be home now. He has been in Germany on Iesenhowers Staff. Is now released from army of occupation. Oct 5 Sons of Pioneer meeting Have listened to Conference all day Dr & I attended & did up all my iorning & mending. Attended a D.U.P. Board meeting at Pres. Simpsons this eve at which we voted to borrow use 300.00 of Pioneer Co. 1,062.00 check on Memorial Fund Friday, October 5 The first L.D.S. Gen. Conference held for all members of the church in four years owing to War conditions was held in the tabernacle full three day commencing this A.M. George Albert Smith oldest in service of the twelve Apostles was voted president to fill the vacency left by death of Heber J. Grant who died May 24 1945. All rejoice over his new appointment. He was voted in according to the order in which Pres. John Taylor was made Pres. All priesthood chorums voting as a seperate group & last all members. I voted here at home
