Show Friday, July 6 Acacia Club met with Ella Farr. A delicious luncheon was served in the garden, Our Field Day, Lucile my sister & Dr Hancock entertained at dinner for the family. We enjoyed colored pictures after. TRUMAN SETS 4TH THEME WASHINGTON, July 3 Pres. Truman said Tuesday night that on this Fourth of July the nation is entitled to take pride in the victory in Europe and being confident of early victory in the Pacific. We have humility for the guidance that has been given us of God in serving His will as a leader of freedom for the world. Let us honor our nations creed of liberty, and the men and women of our armed forces who are carrying this creed with them throughout the world. Sunday, July 8 Mr & Mrs D.R. Wheelwright invited, Oscar & Oertel & family Royal & Cleone Dr & I, Avon & June for a wonderful chicken breakfast & this evening Joe & Myrene had Pinic lunch for all at their canon home. With all the entertaining i do Iot have to cook so much and we are all enjoying the family. Dr. and Mrs. G. Oscar Russell of Salt Lake City, who will leave in the near future for Ohio to make their home, were honored guests at a breakfast given Sunday morning by Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Wheelwright, at their home 1286 Twenty fifth. Covers were laid for Dr. and Mrs. Russell, Dr. and Mrs. Edward I. Rich, Mr. and Mrs. Junius H. Smart, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Eccles, Mrs. E. A. Cannon, Robert Russell and Carol Russell. Mrs. Joseph W. Brewer and Mrs. Frank E. Newman entertained at a delightful open house at the Brewer home on Capital Tuesday evening in compliment to Miss Mona Smith, who will leave Monday for McFadden, Wyo., to spend the summer with her brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Dixon, before going to Denver, Colo., to make her home. The guests were received in the attractive garden and served in the dining room. The table was artistically arranged with shasta daisies and larkspurs and white tapers lighted the setting. Assisting the hostesses were Mrs. Eunice Evey of Los Angeles and Mrs. Harry S. Reed. Assisting in the serving were Miss Analu Newman, Miss Mary Newman, Miss Sharlene Brewer and Miss Carlyn Smart. |
