Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

OCR Text	Show Saturday, March 24 Have done some marketing which is a job to make your points hold out. 30 points on a pt. can of tomatoes 5 lbs of sugar until last of May little fat or butter but very thankful for what we hase since so many are starving in the old world. Shoes are rationed & have been the past three years. Stockings are scarse & will be more scarse. Cotton goods very hard to get and very high gingham when it can be had 95 cts to 1.25 per yard. No elastic no zippers, safety pins etc available. I have plenty I have had for years. Sunday, March 25 Dr and I attended Sunday School have dinner at Cleones go to Sacrament meeting this evening a fine musical programe by Brigham City Choir & Austine Segar 7 wife. We called on Sister Bingham who is celebrating her 80th Birthday. Also on Bro & Sister who have been married 50 yr. A very nice couple Holland Converts to the church & parents of 9 children seven living. Listened to Bishop Harold Lees radio discourse from K.S.L. Monday, March 26 A stormy cold day. Expected quite a number D.U.P. members on Sales Com. but two came. Mrs. Winholtz & Bell Wilson. War news very good. Wonder how Germany & Japan can stand such terrific loss. Two many of our fine boys are having to five their lives. Happy the day when it is over. Oertel sent me a beautiful potted plant for her birthday tomorrow. She will be 50 yr old. A very dear daughter Tuesday, March 27 The biggest snow storm of the year last night 8 in of wet snow. A grand thing for our country. Our eldest child Oertel Russell is fifty years old today. A fine good women and a credit to us & her family. I have spent most of the day writing letters to our my family for Easter. Dr wrote the boys yesterday. Junior in the Jungles of Burma. Thair in Paris France. Each doing their part in Medical service in this terriable world War. Marys husband Taylor Peery also in Paris in the Gov. part. A wonderful letter to Blanch from Junior
