Monday, March 12 Mrs Wilson and I spent the day in Salt Lake City on buisness for D.U.P. Met David O McKay. Went to State Capitol & met with State Pres. Kate Carter on publishing or considering the printing of pioneer biographes. Met Mr Berkinshaw at Deseret Printing Press. I stayed over night with Oertel. Carol attendes U of U each day from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. Then works at Telegraph office from 4 until 10 P.M. She has a very responsiable job. Tuesday, March 13 Had a nice visite with Oertel. She & I met Cleone and we went shopping with Oertel for a suit. Did not find one that she liked. She will get one later. I bought me a lovly black spring Coal (a Xmas Gift from Dr). Lucile my sister and I brought up 108 books (Beneath Ben Lomans Peak). From Deseret Press. I stayed with Marens Claire this morning while she took little Ralph to the Dr. Ralph Sen went to a convention yesterday to N.Y. To D.U.P. have 500.00 & will raise 75,000 Shopped in Salt Lake Tuesday. Attended a luncheon at Effie Spencers she is 85 yr old. Thursday, March 15 Snow. I took time to write a note to Mrs Charlotte Jacobs of Riverdale Ut who is a widow and has lost two fine sons in the Service. She is a splendid women & a friend. Charles R Smart came up from Salt Lake. He had been in the hospital at Fort Douglas for 15 days & we knew nothing of it. Thought he had returned home two weeks ago. Had a short visite as he came at 10 P.M. & left this A.M. for his home in Los Angeles. Cannot tell when we shall see him again, or where his asignment will be.
