Dark and some scared as rocks come on the triage. No casualties here. February 16. Return to Juvigny. February 17. Medcan chef at Mt. Luilly sends Murphy to Vauxillion in broad daylight 500 yards from Boche trenches. February 18. Coupe de Main. Not on extra so go to bed. February 19. Receive packages and letters. Play cards and write letters. February 20. 101st Engrs. Band concert. New phonograph records arrive. February 21. K.P. February 22. Rain and snow. American Ammunition trains come through. Reserve. February 23. Bois de Quincy. 1 call. Have to sleep in car during an artillery battle. American Lieut gives French hell. February 24. Gas attack. Buel and Curter wounded. February 25. Return to Juvigny. Boche drop bombs on way back from Paris. February 26. Boche planes (2) try for balloon. Miss. YMCA (Young Men s Christian Association. They were involved in running the military canteens, called post exchanges today, in the United States and in France.) leave us 2 box apples. Some treat. February 27. More Americans arrive. Helps. February 28. Terrific barrage by American and French artillery. Boche avions very active. March 1. Boche avions and bombs. Put electric light in our room. Pal and Jimmie return from permission. |
