Endurance, etc. Next to palm. Divisional. April 14. Finish Crawford s car. Inspection. Repair steering arm. Receive package from mother. Broken. Cold, rain. Write letters in bed. April 15. Rain. Write Dutch, Rice, Billy, Bill T. Mother and Dad at Allied Canteen. Liuet gives us Croix de Guerre to wear. Movies, Letter from Theron and mother. April 16. Reserve. General inspected today. 6 month service stripe put on. April 17. K.P. Drill. Bath. Tea at Red Cross for us. April 18. Called at 300 am to go to St. Mard through Prenelle. Dark, no lights. Arrive and find it is taxi work. Take 6 officers to front lines. Damn mad. Receive citation by Gen. Renouard. Division relieved in afternoon. Rain 300-730 Bed. April 19. Reserve. Moving to O Euilly at 130 Snow and rain. April 20. Arrive O Euilly at 300 pm. Duty at post (Paissy) Post 2. Nothing to eat at post. Made me some chocolate and ate can sardines. April 21. Wrote letters to Dutch, Rice, Billy, Mother, Bill and Dad. Three shells come in get out, all over me. Some scare. Battery over top of post which is a cave. Trip to Glen. April 22. Still on duty. Nothing exciting. Shave and get wood for fireplace. April 23. Reserve. No calls. Work on car. April 24. Work on car. Write letters. |
