Show June 10 Continued. of color, fine roads. June 11. Wrote letters home and to Ruth and Ross. Played ball, cards and put on mudguard. Shaved. June 12. Worked on car. Played cards, went to Pouilly. Took hot bath. Returned at 600 pm. Played ball in evening. June 13. Wrote home. Police duty. Cleaned barracks and grounds. Mended clothes, shaved, and cut Coman s hair. June 14. Left Marcilly for Trois. Enroute to Vosges Mountains V in Pouilly. Spent night in the place at Trois. Slept in cars. Kitchen broken down enroute. Had dinner in cafe on corner. Coffee at 500 am. Route. June 15. Route for today Lusigny, Vendeuvre, Bar, Sur Aube, Juzen Court, Chaumont and Chaumont American Headquarters at 1200 pm. Lunch at Y.M.C.A., chocolate, cheese sandwich (white bread). Nogent, Montigny, Bourbonne, Vauvillers, Bains les Bains, Xertigny, Epinal. Dinner at cafe, slept by river. Rain. June 16. Left Epinal at 800 am. 230 pm yesterday Remiremont, Le Thillot. Destination to await arrival of division. Still raining. Fishing, no fish. June 17. Still rains. Play baseball during lulls. Kitchen arrives. Get hair cut. Play cards. Good beer in town. June 18. Still rains. K.P. June 19. Still rains. Play ball, cards, and work on car. June 20. Pay arrives. Still rains. To leave in morning for Ranspatch, Alsace Lorraine. June 21. Rain. On road 730 a.m. Arrive at Ranspatch. No barracks so have to still sleep in cars. French Y so we can get in out of wet. People all talk Boche. June 22. Still raining. Write letters home and read Saturday Posts. To get barrack in afternoon. Establish kitchen. Barrack very good. Lots of rats. |
