Show 6) Canadian Potash Project Utah undertook all design engineering, procurement, and con- struction operations for the completion of this 1800 ton per day potash refinery for International Minerals and Chemical Corporation (Canada) Ltd. Incorporated in this project was the installation of an extensive freeze plant and aggregate plant for the construction phase. This assignment provided the integrated management and coordinated engineering approach to all phases of this completed potash mine and refinery development. Utah's central procurement organization, developed over the years by our extensive overseas operations, were employed in handling the complex logistics and procurement problems. This project was started in May of 1957 and completed in August of 1960 at a cost of $16, 017, 200. The turnkey project was completed as directed by the client. 7) Watsonville Sewage Plant Construction of a sewage treatment plant in the amount of $872,736. The client was the City of Watsonville, Watsonville, California. The fixed price contract was started in June of 1959 and completed in August of 1960. Excess forming and concrete costs, together with foundation excavation during wet weather, contributed to a loss on this project. 8) Gardner-Denver Building Construction of an office building and warehouse facilities in the amount of $65,158. The actual client was Utah Construction & Mining Co., and the lump sum contract was undertaken in January of 1960 and completed in August of 1960. Work was performed satisfactorily at costs less than estimated. 9) Stockton Elevator Reconstruction Work involved reconstruction necessary to place structure in condition for transfer of ownership. The work was done for ourselves, Utah Construction & Mining Co., in the amount of $134,072. The work was undertaken in January 1960 and completed in August of the same year. The captive work was performed at cost for corporate management. |
