Show 10) Kennecott Pilot Reverb. Facilities Contract involved the labor and construction materials for small concrete foundations and monorail support steel, installation of charging, tapping and exhaust equipment for 20 ft. by 6 ft. Pilot Reverb. The client was Kennecott Copper Corporation, and the work amounted to $136,969. The cost plus fixed fee contract was undertaken in July of 1960 and completed in October of 1960. The work was completed according to construction schedule, although modifications to the contract exceeded original estimated costs. 11) Serre Poncon Dam Located on the Durance River in Southeastern France, this dam was started in July of 1955 and completed in July of 1960 for Electricite de France. The dam is composed of alluvial material with an impervious core. The height of the dam is 400 ft., the length at the crest 2,000 ft., and the width at the base 2,168 ft. The volume of material set in place is 18.2 million cubic yards. Total reservoir capacity is 1,200 million cubic meters, practical capacity 900 million cubic meters. There were three purposes for the construction of the dam: power supply, irrigation, and flood control. Average annual output for Serre Pone on is 700 million kwh. The project was constructed by a joint venture composed of Compagnie Industrielle de Travaux Entreprises Schneider (Citra), the sponsor, and three other French contractors. On behalf of the joint venture, Citra signed an agreement with Utah to provide technical assistance and personnel. All expenses attendent to financing this technical assistance were for the account of the joint-venture-. In addition, Utah received 6 per cent of the net-profit. The approximate cost of the project was $27,500,000. 12) Muswellbrook Power Station The design coordination and construction of civil, mechanical and electrical work for a 30,000 kw power station. Installation included two 15,000 kw Parsons turbo-alternators and two coal-fired boilers using 500 tons of coal per day. The station generates sufficient power to supply the needs of some 20,000 all-electric homes. The owner of this project is the Electricity Commission of New South Wales, and it is located in Muswellbrook, New South Wales, Australia. The cost plus management fee contract was started in October of 1957 and completed in March of 1960. The total cost of the job was $2,424,149. The client was very satisfied with our performance on this turnkey project. The fee was based on cost of equipment procured for the owner's accounts, in addition to the construction cost. Actual rate on the total was 5 per cent. |
