Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

OCR Text	Show Monday, August 27 Am expecting Oertel & family any day so stay close at home during the day. Had a paper from Junior the Chinese Lantern telling of V.J. Day. We hope he can come home in the next mo or two Dr & I called a the Quin Home Ada Quinn a dear friend passed away with pneumonia & will be buried Tuesday. A letter from Mary she has been sick with a cold. Tuesday, August 28 Dr spoke at the service of Mrs Ada Quinn at 2 P.M. today. I did not go as Oertel & family came up this far on their way East to Oxford Ohio where they will make their home & Oscar will teach. They stayed for lunch & I was so dissapointed they could not stay over night. Fell badly that they are going so far away but such is life. We shall miss them so much. Royal & Cleone left for a trip to Copper Baison Wednesday, August 29 Have felt rather blue today. Blanch called for a minute. Had nice cooked lunch for Dr Trout 2 Veg. salad, & apple pie. Myrene Joe & the boys came home from Jackson. Sold three Beneath Ben Lomans Peak to a Mr Revell (Bookman) Worked cleaning fruit room. Dr & I went for a drive looking for building lot. Wrote to Avon Taking over Tokyo is interesting over radio. A great day for our Soldier men Mrs Baker home from Hospital. Thursdya, August 31 Finished fruit cellar & took invoice of same Myrene called had a fine trip. Oertel stayed at Greenriver Tues. night all fine She sent carol. Van der Veene cleaned up yard & lawn. Grand weather. Dr very tired came home for awhile instead of going to Med. Con. At Bushnell. I have felt fine today. McArthur & his men took over Tokyo. Spent some time yesterday to get a nurse for Bakers & found later she will only stay a few days
