Show Monday, September 24 Our eldest son is 46 yr old today and is with the Armed U.S. forces in China. He is a wonderful son. Did not attend Tea by Mrs Geo. Lowe & others Sept 25 Attended R.S. Party Tuesday, September 18 Tish David Randot of Calif an old friend spent most of the day with me. She is a second cousin 20 yr ago 1948 The Weber college alumni association has purchased the residence of Dr. Edward I. Rich, at the corner of Twenty fifth street and Jefferson, for 11,000. The property is added to the college campus. Typhoon Killed 978; 100,000 Homeless TOKYO, Sept. 22 Nine hundred seventy eight persons were killed in three Japanese prefectures by the typhoon which swept through the Nipponese islands Sept. 17. More than 100,000 Japanese were homeless in one prefecture alone. The death toll was based on incomplete reports from the damaged area, a Japanese home ministry official told the Associated Press.
