As a means of supporting this mission, the Dean's office is responsible for Student Judicial Affairs. The Student Judicial Affairs process is designed to: • assist in the development and education of students • promote mutual respect within the University community • contribute to maintaining a safe campus environment • provide a process for tracking repeated incidents of student code violation The vast majority of issues can be resolved at an informal level. Informal resolution of grievances is strongly encouraged. If satisfactory resolution is not achieved through informal means a more formal process may be pursued. Informal or formal resolution may be sought through the academic department, the college system, the Dean of Students Office, or the Due Process Officer. Opportunities for leadership development and representing the student voice to the administration are coordinated through the WSUSA office. Interested students will find many ways to become involved. An array of programs and activities are planned to appeal to every student. Listed below are the areas of WSUSA: Legislative Branch There are 19 student senators who meet every Monday at 1:30 pm. Senate meetings are held to pass legislation dealing with campus issues. Senators meet with their area councils on a regular basis to discuss the issues that will be brought to the senate meeting.
