Show 358 Continuing Education & Community Services Dr. Laird Hartman, Dean Weber State University Continuing Education and Community Services serves the mission of the University as an educational partner to non-traditional constituencies such as business and industry, local and state government agencies; and with professional, trade, and special interest associations. These learning partnerships are conducted in a variety of alternative formats, at convenient times and places through classroom lectures, laboratories, workplace practica, online delivery, or by mail. Learning experiences range from academic degree programs and courses delivered in cooperation with the university's academic departments to customized noncredit courses that draw on community resources, all with appropriate student support services that meet the needs of its diverse clientele. A network of collaborative working relationships reaches pre-college students; working, re-entering and adult learners; business and industry; governmental agencies; non-profit groups; public education organizations; and professional associations. These classes match the WSU course content and student performance criteria. These students, though not officially matriculated at WSU, still create a WSU official permanent transcript. WSU academic department representatives work closely with these teachers to provide professional development opportunities as well as to assure WSU standards are maintained. The state of Utah provides a funding allocation that enables students to participate without having to pay tuition. For updated information about this program, visit we be r. e d u/ co ncu rre nt.
