History DEPARTMENTAL HONORS » Program Prerequisite: Enroll in General Honors Program and complete at least 9 hours of General Honors courses (see the Honors Program on page 43). » Grade Requirements: Maintain an overall GPA of 3.3. » Credit Hour Requirements: Fulfill requirements for History departmental or Teaching major, of which at least 12 credit hours of History courses must be completed on an Honors basis. A student may receive History Honors credit in any upper division History course including Directed Readings HIST 4830 (for a maximum total of 4 hours).* Take an additional 2 hours in a History Honors senior project course. * Permission from the department chat should be sought before registering in a coinse for Honors credit. A written agreement should be reached with the appropriate professor regarding the work expected for Honors credit. (See the Honois Program on page 43.) History MINOR I TEACHING MINOR » Grade Requirements: A grade of "C" or better in courses applied toward the minor (a grade of "C-" is not acceptable) in addition to an overall GPA for these courses of 2.50 or higher. » Credit Hour Requirements: Minimum of 24 credit hours in History courses. Transferring students with History minors must take at least one approved History course at Weber State. Course Requirements for Minor History Courses Required (6 credit hours) HIST SS1500 World History to 1500 CE. (3) HIST SS/DV 1510 World History from 1500 CE. to the Present (3) Upper-division History Electives (18 credit hours) Select at least 18 credit hours from the upper-division History courses. These courses are listed under the B.S. and B.A. Program. Course Requirements for Teaching Minor Students who select the History Teaching Minor must satisfy the Teacher Education admission and certification requtements (see Teacher Education Depaitment).
