Show ECHOING CORRIDORS The last bell has rung and all the students are in their respective seats in the classrooms. It is then that the huge corridors of the school are left to memories and ghosts. In the classrooms boys and girls give their recitations. Once in a while the sound of youthful laugh¬ter come floating out, but in the hallways the ghosts of students of bygone days greet each other in a noiseless noise as they hurry to their spectral classes. Always this pro¬cession carries on, from the first class of the school down to the last. These students have left the im¬print of their souls in the school, and Ogden High guards it faith¬fully. Once more the students go up the stairs that were worn away by their eager learning feet. Once more they stop and talk to teachers. and to friends. For 50 minutes this strange parade goes on. If one is quiet he can hear the echo of their voices and footsteps. Then, suddenly the visitors have vanished. The bell has rung, and out pour the students of today from the classrooms, greeting one anoth¬er as they pass on their way to their next class.—Barbara Clark. |
