Show Tuesday, January 12. I sewed at the Bishops Store house this afternoon with several sisters from the 18 Ward. Dr read from Church history Vol 4. Very interesting. I bound by hand a pieced quilt I quilted when Mary was here sick. UNNERVING WORLD PLANE crashes, automobile accidents, racketeers, gangsters, kidnapers, war! Our world of today is filled with unnerving forces, and life is being made more unsafe. No wonder the death rate from heart disease is rapidly increasing. Life has been made most strenuous with its heart pulls and alarms. Wednesday, January 13. Not so cold today. Recd letter from Avon it is very cold in Wyo. 50 below zero. She had frosted her legs just riding a few blocks. To cold for her car to go. Mrs D.H. Peery (Taylors) grandmother is ninty one years old today. Dr & I called to see her. She is bright and well except cant walk much. She has quite a sense of humor, Wore a purple silk velvet or plush dress and wore two carsarges of flowers. I have done writing most all day wrote Mary, Avon and my aunt Mary Jones. Dr read all evening aloud. |
