Show Monday, June 28. Warm today. Dr & Mrs E S Budge came and stayed awhile. Have written a long letter to Oertel. Went for a ride this eve. This evening my sister Luciles son Douglas came and stayed over night with us. He drove out from New York in three days. He is going to work up in Idaho on a Salmon River project. He is a fine boy, good looking age 18 yr & is six ft 3 in & weighs 214 lbs. Tuesday, June 29. The bodies of three little girls lost last Saturday at Inglewood Cal were found today in a ravine in Baldwin Hills where they had been enticed to go on a rabbit hunt with a sexual pervert. They were they were Madaline 7 yr. Melba 8 yr Everett and Jenette Stephens 9 yr old. They were found a short distance apart stangled & mutilated after having been outraged. One of the most terriable crimes in our Western History. They have finger prints of the criminal & have 12 known degenerates arrested. All have the name of Eddie as other children knew of a man by this name who spoke to them & wanted them to go with him. I attended our part R.S. for Teaches in 12 Ward. Very nice. Was asked to say a few words which I did. Douglas Hancock went to Salt Lake City today. |
