A Loved Doctor Passes Tribune Jany 14 51. The doctor plays an unique role in the community. He welcoems many of its newest citizens into the world. Dr. Fred W. Taylor, who died at his Provo home last week, is believed to have delivered more than 5000 babies in Utah County during his 57 year medical career. But Dr. Taylor did not limit himself to his profession. He promoted the development of hospitals, roads, libraries and recreational facilities and also was interested int eh investment business. Dr. Taylor was born in Salt Lake City July 18, 1866, a son of John Taylor, third president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, and Sophia Whitaker Taylor. He was educated in Salt Lake schools and the old University of Deseret and received his medical degree from New York University in 1892. That same year he established his practice in Provo, where he had lived except for periods of study in Europe and service in the Medical Corps during World War I. Dr. Taylors death will be widely mourned. He was a loved doctor and an outstanding citizen. The Salt Lake Tribune voices its sorrow and extends sympathy to the family.
