Cleon Skousen Seminary Grads of OHS to Hear Ex FBI OfficialA former prominent FBI official and noted public speaker will address Ogden high school seminary commencement exercises Sunday at 3 p.m.He is W. Cleon Skousen, executive secretary of Brigham Young University Alumni association and onetime administrative assistant to J. Edgar Hoover, FBI director.Seminary principal, L. Elmer Peterson, said theme of this years program will be The Church in the Modern World. There will also be two student speakers Ann Hislop who will speak on The Church, the Advocate of Peace, and LuDean Peterson, who will talk on The Opportunities and Purposes of Youth in the Modern Church.Talks to 100 GroupsMr. Skousen in a recent two month period addressed about 100 L. D. S. church civic, educational, alumni and social groups. Excluding radio audiences, he lectured to an estimated 27, 500 people.He has written three books Prophecy and Modern Times, The Story of the Mormon Pioneer, and The Real Story of Christmas.This year's seminary graduates will be accepted by President Olin H. Ririe, of the Mount Ogden stake, Besides Mr. Peterson the teaching staff includes Elliott Berlin, J. Ramon Drake and Wayne C. Gunnell. |
