Standard 25 Tax Lid For Poor ManDETROIT A The poor man, not the rich man, Governor J. Bracken Lee of Utah said yesterday, would benefit most from the proposed 25 per cent limit on income taxes.The Republican governor told members of the Economic club of Detroit that a constitutional amendment providing such a limit has been called a rich man's bill.This is not so, Lee said. If economy of government is lost, it is the little man who suffers most.Lee recommended a plan under which the federal government would draw up its budget and assess each of the states its proportion. He said this would call taxpayer attention to the amount of money the individual is paying in taxes. Last year, he added, Utah gave the federal government 300 million in taxes and received only 45 million in federal aid. Money Is PowerMoney is power. Today the government has too much money. This leads to loss of personal liberty, graft, corruption, influence peddling and gangsterism, Lee commented.In Utah, Lee said, three state departments have been abolished in an economy move. Now, he added, most taxpayers don't even know which departments were eliminated.
