14B THE OGDEN (UTAH) STANDARD EXASUNDAY MORNING, JUNE 15, 1952Stop Wasting Water, It May Be Shut Off!If people don't stop wasting Pine View water they may find it shut off every other day.This warning was issued yesterday by Dave Scott, superintendent of Ogden River Water Users association.Daring the past 10 days the distribution system of the South Ogden conservation district has been taxed to the limit.This is caused principally by just plain waste, Scott said. Runs All NightMany users are letting their Pine View water run all night without nozzles, flooding neighbors lots and basements, and in many instances allowing the valuable water to run down the streets.It seems that people in the South Ogden district would be interested in protecting the service they now enjoy at moderate cost, Scott continued.If restrictions are necessary it will mean hiring extra men to enforce them and will increase the cost of water to users.Unless users cooperate by eliminating this useless waste, it will be absolutely necessary to impose restrictions, he said.This would mean a system of taking turns in watering or turning off lines on alternate days, he explained.Cases have been called to the attention of the district officials where more water is being wasted than is beneficially used, Scott added.
