Show 18 ON WEDNESDAYTribune May 16 52 18 On Wednesday Dionne Quints Consider Separate Lives SoonChicago Tribune Press ServiceOTTAWA, May 24The Dionne Quintuplets, who will be 18 years old next Wednesday, are thinking of separating to begin life as individual young women. They are undecided but will make up their minds this summer, Sister Mary Queen of Hearts, superior of their private school for 10 years, said Sunday.High school graduation diplomas will be given to the quints and nine classmates, all girls, at their birthday party at the Dionne family's big yellow brick home near Corbeil, Ont.For the past year, the five sisters have talked of breaking up to enter different schools next fall in Montreal, Toronto and Quebec City. Cecile has shown interest in becoming a nurse, Marie and Annette are the most musically talented, Yvonne has the business head of the group and Emilie appears to be the homebody type.Although they wear identical clothes in public, the quintuplets dress to individual tastes around the house. In school all girls wear uniforms. Their mother, Mrs. Oliva Dionne, who was married at 18, still buys most of their clothes, but they sometimes go shopping in pairs, or alone in nearby North Bay.All the quints can drive a car, but have not yet obtained drivers licenses. They will be legally free to marry without their parents consent when they become 18, but everybody else in the family agrees that this is unlikely for a long time. |
