Show sophomore Kalista Francom's research on the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) was one of only 60 projects selected from more than 3,000 applications submitted nationwide. Kalista was the only student selected from the state of Utah. The Posters on the Hill event, sponsored by the Council on Undergraduate Research, is held annually to thank lawmakers for their support of federally funded scientific research and to demonstrate the results of that research at colleges and universities across the country. Last year, WSU zoology student Eric Gabrielsen was the only Utah student invited to share his findings on brine shrimp flies at the Capitol Hill event. • WSU is a leader in online instruction and offers ten online degree programs that serve students all over the world. In the most recent term, over 6,000 students enrolled in WSU Online courses. • The John B. Goddard School of Business Sc Economics offers an innovative Master of Business Administration program to meet the needs of students who wish to earn an MBA without disrupting their careers. Forty percent of each course's content is taught online, and the remainder is taught in the evening in a more traditional face-to-face format. • In the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, students compete in national moot court competition each year. Historically, WSU teams have fared well in the national competition, finishing in the top 10 seven times, including a third-place finish in 2005. According to Frank Guliuzza, the pre-law advisor, the experience helps students get admitted to law school and succeed once they get there. • The Dr. Ezekiel R. Dumke College of Health Professions is a leader in state-of-the-art outreach and online educational delivery in the health professions. Programs are designed in a career-ladder format, encompassing certificate, associate's degree, bachelor's degree and master's degree entry and exit points for health professionals. Starting in 2006 Weber State University began offering a Master of Health Administration degree in response to demand from local health care providers. The degree is the only graduate program of its kind currently available in the state. • The College of Applied Science Sc Technology offers the last two years of bachelor's degrees in both Computer Science and Construction Management Technology on the Redwood Campus of Salt Lake Community College. Courses are offered in the evenings for the convenience of students in the Salt Lake metropolitan area. • The Athletic Training Program in the Department of Health Promotion and Human Performance, Jerry and Vickie Moyes College of Education, has achieved national accreditation status through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). • The College of Arts Sc Humanities provides cultural opportuni ties for northern Utah through its strong commitment to the integration of music, theater and dance. The Kimball Visual Arts Center hosts exhibitions of the works of nationally and internationally acclaimed artists as well as of WSU students. • The College of Science provides unique opportunities for students to conduct undergraduate research in collaboration with faculty. These research opportunities greatly enhance a student's success in finding rewarding employment in his/her chosen field, or getting accepted into top graduate and professional schools. • Weber State University has been selected as the site for a Tech nology Innovation Center that will support the Utah Science, Technology and Research (USTAR) initiative. The new center, one of five planned throughout the state as part of USTAR's Technology Outreach Program, will bring together local businesses and industry, government agencies and area educational institutions with the goal of sparking new business development, enhancing the climate for innovation, and stimulating the creation of more jobs. Accreditation Weber State is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. All applied technical education programs are fully accredited by the Utah State Office of Vocational Education. Teacher education programs are fully accredited by the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification.
