This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Weber SUP Meets Tonight Feby 27 1952. The Weber county chapter of Sons of Utah Pioneers will meet tonight at 8 in the Utah Power & Light Co auditorium, it is announced by President Edward I Rich. Bishop Joseph L Peterson will give a talk on the settlement of Ogden Valley and construction of the toll road through Ogden canyon. The program will include a cornet duet by Don Woods and David Felt. All members, their wives and the public are invited. Friday, March 28. Nice day. I took Cleone home from the Hospital. She is feeling very well. Myra went to Maud Porters to Acacia Club. I have read and wrote letter to Mary. I went Ward teaching this evening and called at Joe & Myrenes to see Eloise Brewer and her husband Fred Matthews. navy man who are going through Temple tomorrow nice people. Saturday, March 29. Snow going fast cloudy today and looks like rain or snow tonite. Have been home all day. This evening went Ward teaching and enjoyed it. Made out report Recd letter from our son Cal Thair very nice letter Major Harper Culley called on us. He was called home from Japan because of death of his father. John Cutler old Wrote to Institute of Research in Biography Inc. Hicksville NY about return of book. Sunday, March 30. Rained some today and is raining this evening. I attended Priesthood meeting and Gospel Docterine classes and we all mother Oertel I attended fast meeting. Dr Jr called this evening and we later visited Cleone at her home. She is feeling much better. We listen of 830 PM to All Fares West by Garicez as the Commentator. |
