Show Thursday, June 19. Nice day. We attended the DUP Fund day at Lorin Farr park. Nice little about 1000 DUP members of 23 camps there. Nice dinner and program. I was the only man invited being President of Sons of Pioneers. Ogden City. Myrene took David Peery and others to Lagoon. We visited mortuary to view remains of Sister Lydid Tanner. She looked nice. Her family present. Five sons and a daughter. Friday, June 20. Nice day. Nothing special. Ernest R. Woolley 52. Latter Day Saints funeral services for Ernist Rich Woolley, 70, retired Utah rancher who died of a heart attack in front of his home yesterday, will be conducted Saturday in the City Cemetery, Salt Lake City. He lived here at 1141 5 th Ave. and had been a local resident for the last 20 years. Mr Woolley leaves his widow, Mrs Laura Woolley; two daughters, Mrs Helen Jackson, Los Angeles, and Mrs Emelyn Gordon, Fresno; two sons, Morris P Woolley, Los Angeles, and three grandchildren. Mr Woolley was born in Paris, Utah. Los Angeles funeral arrangements are in charge of Edwards Bros Colonial Mortuary. Ernest Rich Woolley. Ernest Rich Woolley, 70, retired Utah rancher, died Wednesday of a heart attack near his residence in Los Angeles, according to information received in Salt Lake City. A native of Paris, Ida, he had resided near Brigham before he moved to California about 20 years ago. Survivors include his widow, Mrs Laura Young Woolley two daughters and two sons, Mrs Helen Jackson and Lark Woolley, Los Angeles Mrs Emelyn Gordon, Fresno Cal and Morris P Woolley Seattle and three grandchildren. 1952. Missionaries. Ray Rich. Among the many Southland missionaries reporting on June 16 to the Salt Lake Mission Home for training was Ray Rich of the North Hollywood Ward who has been called to fulfill a 30 month mission in Tahiti. Ray was called several months ago to the New Zealand Mission. However, prior to his farewell party held on June 4, he received a telegram from Salt Lake City changign his call to the Tahitian Mission. He will sail frm Los Angeles Harbor the latter part of July. Elder Rich, a son of Mr and Mrs Frank A Rich, has been serving a stake mission for the past 10 months. Prior to this call, he was in the Sunday School superindentency in North Hollywood Ward and a Sunday School teacher. he served for a time as secretary in the Third Quorum of Elders and was president of the M Men class in the ward. During World War II Ray served for three years with the Army Infantry in a tank division, part of which time was spent on the battlefields of Europe. He returned from service to the Adams Ward and later moved to North Hollywood where he established a barber shop. Ward M Men and Gleaners and stake missionaries honored him at parties before he left for Salt Lake. |
