This only makes me surer.This was the reaction of Mrs. LaRelle Rich Saunders, 684 Kershaw St., Ogden, when informed by the Deseret News that United Nations Command had asked the Chinese Communiststo account for her husband, Lt.Jack J. Saunders, believed to be an unreported Red prisoner.I got the same information last August or September from a former prisoner of war who was with Jack in a North Korean prison camp, she said.This boy escaped while the prisoners were being transferred to another camp, and he made a trip to Ogden to tell me that he had seen Jack.Parents of the young Ogden officer, reported missing in action since Feb. 12, 1951, said they, too, had never given up hope.It is nice to have some further information about our boy, even though it is sketchy. It only makes us feel more certain Jack is still alive, said John K. Saunders, 2602 Adams Ave., Ogden, father of the missing man.We haven't heard much more from the Defense Department, except that they were going to try to see if the Red Cross couldn't get into the POW camps to check up, he added.Thank you very much for calling. We've hoped for so long that he was all right, even though a prisoner. We appreciate your thoughtfulness, he courteously told a News reporter who gave him the first information about the new U. N. demand for accounting of unreported prisoners.
