Show Remarks of E. W. Littlefield June 16, 1961 Page 3 President of the Foley Company is here from Washington, D. C., and C. I. BERRELL, Vice President and Manager of the Salt Lake City district office, was directly responsible for their participation in the project. For all members of our joint venture, General WELLING and for our subcontractors and suppliers and the hundreds of men whose hard work made this result possible please accept and extend to General WILSON our sincere thanks for the recognition you have given us. It will be a valued momento of a milestone achievement in this critical program to assure our national security and survival. But at the same time that we, the contractors, are so honored, commendation of the highest order is due to the Corps of Engineers Ballistic Missile Construction Office to its talented Commander, General WELLING; to his deputy, Colonel HAYES; to the resourceful and energetic Atlas F director, Colonel WILSON and his hard-working and effective area engineers; Colonel JENNINGS and Colonel LEONARD. For the achievements of these officers and their staffs far transcend the success at Schilling. Within the 10 months of CEBMCO's existence by dint of the closest coordination and planning, rigid timing and relentless pressure on contractors we are still bruised from it construction of virtually every one of the missile launching sites, both Atlas and Titan, has been brought to schedule or ahead of schedule. |
