Show CARD #5 - Page 1 Looking ahead, I am very hopeful that we can report increased earnings in 1965 and still further increases in years ahead. This optimism rests upon a combination of factors that should affect the short term favorably and my hope for the culmination of programs on which we have been at work for some little time. Dealing with the current year first, we are anticipating better results in all of our principles activities. Our mining activities will benefit from higher copper prices, higher coal deliveries, higher iron ore sales and particularly to Japan where there has been a dramatic change of thinking as the Japanese steel mills have become concerned about the realiability of deliveries from iron ore suppliers in India, Goa, Malaya and the Philippines. Land development earnings will benefit from a sustained rate of real estate sales |
