Show CARD #6 - Page 1 Looking farther down the road, I feel that we have good cause for optimism. Our mining picture never looked brighter, and some of the expansion programs on which we have been working seem possible of accomplishment in the near future. The company has been at work on four major expansion projects, and two of these are sure to go forward; the third almost sure; and the fourth holds high promise. 1. Utah owns one-third of the Mount Goldsworthy Mining Associates, which recently was awarded a 7-year contract for 16 1/2 million tons of iron ore for sale from Australia to Japanese steel mills. We are obliged to deliver 7 50, 000 tons between April 1, 1966 and December 31, 1966, with deliveries stepping up to 2 1/2 million tons annually during the last 6 years of the contract. |
