Show CARD #6 - Page 3 mill from 8, 000 to 12, 000 tons daily, but consideration is now being given to raising the total to not less than 18, 000 tons daily, or, as I believe is more likely, going to 24, 000 tons daily. The exact determination of size will depend upon studies that are presently under way. The effect of this expansion will be both to increase profits and to lengthen the life of the operation by making it economically feasible to process the lower grade ores. It is anticipated that Pima will be able to provide its own financing for these programs without calling on its stockholders for funds. Because of the difference in ore grade, profits increase a much smaller percentage than the rate at which capacity is expanded. 3. Marcona Mining Company is negotiating a revised agreement with the Peruvian government corporation from which it has its concession. |
