The works are situated in the south-western border of the City, on the Union Pacific Railroad,which is a great convenience to the pro¬prietors, shipments being attended with less inconvenience than for¬merly. The machinery is very complete and extensive. No impuri¬ties of any nature are permitted to enter into their articles, and the large sales constantly being made to dealers throughout the entire Rocky Mountain region attest their popularity. The Union Depot Hotel, directly in front of which all eastern and western trains stop, is a well conducted and popular institution. The proprietor, Mr. M. H. Beardsley, is an experienced hotel keeper; his tables are always set out with the best edibles that can be procured here or elsewhere, the beds are clean, the rooms well aired, and terms very reasonable. The Pioneer Livery Stables of Ogden are kept by Messrs. Car¬roll & Dee, both thorough and experienced in that line of business. Their accommodations for stabling are ample; good horses and vehicles are always on hand, and prices are moderate. The stables are located on Main street, opposite Walker Bros' store. Mr. Barnard White is a manufacturer of and dealer in sash, doors, blinds, and a dealer in window glass, lath, shingles. &c. He keeps a large establishment on Fourth street, and in addition to be¬ing a thorough business man and a reliable dealer, is one of our oldest and most highly respected citizens. He is doing his share to¬wards building up Ogden as well as himself. The principal tin, iron and copper ware traffic of Ogden is carried on by Messrs. H. J.
