Show Marriott-Slaterville City Council Report for September 2004 By Joyce VanTassell Planning Commission considers conceptual site plan for Frank Blair property Frank Blair presented his preliminary plans for his property to the planning commission, which includes plans for a hotel, restaurant, gas station and convenience store for one parcel of his property. Concern for neighboring residents was expressed by several members of the commission. Council President Les Syme said, "Frank has the right to develop his property but at what cost to others?" Blair countered that there were only two neighbors, one of whom knew about his plans and did not object; the other was a newer resident and had been told of development plans before he bought his property. Other concerns centered around increased traffic and safe entrance and exit off a busy road. After further discussion, the commission tabled the proposal and asked Blair to provide letters of approval from all neighbors and confirmation from the fire department about safety issues for a three-level hotel. The planning commission granted final approval, with conditions, for the Spencer Farms subdivision, consisting of 33 lots and located at 200 N. and 1900 W.
