Show Volume VI Issue 7 Marriott-Slaterville City Newsletter July 2004 1140 West 400 North - Phone 627-1919 Community News Neighborhood Watch Neighborhood Watch hosted a June event where residents of the community were taught observation skills to assist in crime prevention. Some pointers from that meeting are as follows: Non-emergency dispatch: 629-8221. Recognize suspicious activities like cars driving through the neighborhood at night without headlights or other suspicious behavior, and report such to the authorities. Nearly half of all successful burglaries are made possible by thieves entering unlocked doors and windows. Keep external doors and windows locked and in good repair. Make sure outside doors have a sturdy dead bolt. Prune shrubbery and trees in your yard to prevent hiding places and to increase visibility. Clearly display your address so that emergency vehicles can quickly find your home. When you travel or if you are frequently away from your home, create the illusion that your home is occupied by having light timers, and do not let mail and newspaper pile up. Keep a secure hidden list of serial numbers, photographs, or other descriptions of important valuables such as TVs, stereos, jewelry, guns, and recreations equipment. Ask your local authorities about having these items engraved _with your name for better identification._ Am Bvening of Music at the Park Bring your family to the Marriott Park and enjoy beautiful music, local talent, and socialize with friends and family. No charge for this event. Featuring: Japanese Musical, Steve Ito Band, and the Dimmick Children. Date: August 23 Time: 7:00 p.m. Place: Marriott Park Bring: lawn chairs, blankets, snacks.
