Show Marriott-Slaterville City Council Report for October 2004 By Joyce VanTassell Holley appointed as new magistrate The Marriott-Slaterville city council met Oct. 21. Mayor Keith Butler appointed Orvil Holley as the new magistrate. Advantages of towns consolidating services Deborah Mecham, director of Weber County consolidate dispatch, spoke to the council about the advantages of consolidating dispatch services for Marriott-Slaterville and advocated raising the fee for 911 services. New Spencer Farms subdivision approved The council approved the Spencer Farms subdivision with 30 lots. The Pioneer Special District was created, which would offer special services to new housing (including the Spencer Farms and the Quail Meadows subdivisions), including trails, curb, gutter and sidewalk. The residents of the new areas will pay these extra services. Zone and land use changes discussed A public hearing was held concerning zoning and land use changes. Concern was expressed at the hearing about not reducing lot sizes in Marriott-Slaterville without balancing that reduction with open space.
