Beginning their regular season, last year's state 5-A cross-country title team, the Fremont Silver Wolves, won the American Fork Invitational on Saturday, August 28, 2004, defeating Provo High School. Fremont holds the state title for the years 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003. They are nationally recognized in The Harrier magazine's preseason Nike-Foot Locker Super 25 national high school teams rankings, at Number 21.
