Show Marriott-Slaterville City History January 2018 Marriott-Slaterville Monthly History January 2018 We received a good amount of rain the first week of January with very mild temperatures throughout the month, but we have basically had no winter this year. Keith H. Butler ended his 18-year term as the first Mayor of Marriott-Slaterville City on January 18, 2018 and Scott Van Leeuwen was sworn in as the second Mayor of our City. Erin Holley was then sworn in as City Council President, replacing Mayor Van Leeuwen, with Dennis Ilium continuing as Vice-President, and Dee Christoffersen was appointed to fill a mid-term vacancy. There ended up being a tied vote between Maurice Pitcher and Dee Christoffersen for the mid term vacancy, which was decided by a coin toss resulting in Mr. Christoffersen's appointment. An Open House was held for Mayor Butler on January 25, 2018. An article reflecting on Mayor Butler's career was also featured in the Standard-Examiner dated January 10, 2018. Planning Commission Meeting cancelled for January City Council Meeting - January 18. 2018 New Business Licenses were approved for Elite Car Wash at 1031 W 1200 S and Frugll Fitness located at 777 W 12''" St. All city staff. Planning Commission and City Council members are required to attend the Open and Public Meetings Training presented by David Church from the Utah League of Cities and Towns on Tuesday, January 30^^ from 6:30 - 8 pm at City Hall. Council approved the following Ordinance and Resolutions: n Ordinance 2018-01-an Ordinance amending Section 13.35.090 regarding the sign regulation table for freeway orientation sign setback. n Resolution 2018-A-a joint resolution of Marriott-Slaterville City adopting the 2018 update report to the Moderate Income Housing Plan. n Resolution 2018-B-a joint resolution of Marriott-Slaterville City entering a local transportation funding agreement between Marriott-Slaterville City and Weber County for Pioneer Road-Phase 2. All were approved. Bits and Pieces Dawson Butcher, son of Casey and Jennilyn Butcher was born on January 14, 2018. Kevin Amidan, 63, passed away on January 14, 2018 Wilma Louise Garvin Strebel, 74, passed away on January 22, 2018. Carma Jean Dickamore, 85, passed away on January 25, 2018. |
