It will be presented by Rural Commimity Consultants. Please plan to attend and give comment. Garden Market & Garage Sale The Marriott-Slaterville Garden Market & Garage Sale will be September 8 and 15 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Come set-up at City Hall at 1570 West 400 North. There is plenty of parking, restroom facilities, and a playgrotmd for the kids. Bring over yolu" garden produce or garage sale items, meet your friends and neighbors, and have an enjoyable Saturday. Halloween Trank-or-Treat This event is at Slaterville Park (250 W 2250 W) on Wednesday, October 31®*. Come circle the wagons together around the haunted grounds. Set-up at 4:30 PM. Treats start at 6:00 PM. Entry is free this yearl Bring bags of candy to share with your neighbors. Epjoy a hot dog, chips, cookie, and a drink for $3. Come see the costumes and decorated trunks. This event is primarily for residents and their families. For questions contact Dana Spencer at 801-627-1919 ext. 202. Annual Veterans Tribute The 11th annual George E. Wahlen Veterans Tribute Run and Chili Cook-Off will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018. Co-sponsored by the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home and the First United Methodist Church (Marriott-Slaterville), this event raises funds to support the veterans residing at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home. The runs (5K and lOK) and one mile walk start at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home (1102 N. 1200 W.) at 10 AM, and end at the First United Methodist Church (1339 W. 400 N.) in Marriott-Slaterville. The chili cook-off begins at 10:30 AM. Awards will be presented to the top male and female ruimers for the 5K and lOK, as well as for each age group male and female. This year the Ogden Nature Center and "Hoofbeats for Healing" organizations will each have a booth. The Utah Military Academy band and singers will perform during these activities. The American Red Cross will have a blood mobile available. For those wanting to donate blood, please see the instmctions from die below web-site to pre-register. For the yoimger children, a bounce house and play groimd will be available, as well as an activities trailer from the United States Army. Lastly, if you lookcarefiilly, you just may see several storm troopers from Star Wars. Bring the family and enjoy some chili and the plarmed activities. Registered runners and walkers will also be eligible for prize drawings with a silent auction open to all those present. Youth Council September Chili Fest Fall is coming and that mean changing leaves and cooler weather. It is the perfect time for a delicious bowl of chili. The Youth Council hosts its Annual Chili Fest on September 2F^ from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the City Building located at 1570 West 400 North. Blessing Animals Fundraiser Utah Search Dogs which is dedicated to the search of missing persons. They will host a fund raiser silent auction, search dog demonstration, and dinner at the City Building, 1570 West 400 North, at 4:00 PM on October 6, 2018. Tickets are $8 at door. |
