Show Marriott-Slaterville City History February 2018 Marriott-Slaterville Monthly History February 2018 One of the first measurable snow storms received in weeks arrived on Sunday, February 18'^ with bitter cold temperatures afterwards. We have received less than a handful of snow storms this winter. However, near the end of the month we had a couple of good storms that lasted over the weekend, helping our snowpack. Our new Mayor, Scott Van Leeuwen took the helm this month and said it has been full of new changes and challenges. Dee Christoffersen was appointed to fill the remainder of the at-large position on the Council, and Erin Holley was elected as President of the City Council, with Dennis Ilium continuing as Vice-President. The City Council also confirmed Mayor Van Leeuwen's appointment of Justin Tobias to the Planning Commission, filling a vacancy created by Carl Parker's retirement. The City currently has a number of projects planned for 2018, including the reconstruction of Pioneer Road at the Plain City border. Planning Commission - February 20. 2018 The Oath of Office was administered to commissioners Kent Schofield, Justin Tobias, Dale Neal and Maurice Pitcher. Les Syme and Kent Meyerhoffer will continue in their offices as Chair and Vice-Chairman respectively by acclamation. Maverik located at 509 N 2000 W submitted a Site Plan to extend the fueling canopy in front of the store and add five additional fuel pumps. They also plan to construct an RV Dump on the west side of the existing store. The Commission approved the proposed Site Plan subject to several conditions. Corey Combe proposed a minor lot subdivision with one new lot on a three acre parcel located at 850 W 1700 S. The Commission granted preliminary and final approval for this subject to several stipulations. Mr. Morris presented the following training to the commission and staff members present: • Rules of Procedure for Open and Public Meetings • Non-discrimination • The General Plan City Council Meeting - February 15. 2018 Mayor Van Leeuwen appointed Delbert Hodson to the Mosquito Abatement Board, and appointed himself to the following boards: WACOG, Central Weber Sewer Improvement District, Weber Fire District and Bona Vista Water Improvement District. |
