Show Marriott-Slaterville City History October 2018 Marriott-Slaterville Monthly History October 2018 Finally! We received some good rain this month after a long, dry, hot summer! Fa!l C!ean-up was he!d at the Marriott and Siaterville Parks the weekend of October 20th. Dumpsters were provided by the City at each park for residents to dispose of garbage. The Hailoween Trunk-or-Treat was heid at the Siaterville Park on Halloween day. Entry was free this year, but a hot dog, chips, cookie and drink cost $3.00. Awards for the event included Jeff and Teresa Toone for Best Trunk - "Spooky Spider"; Misty Adams for Best Family - "Alice in Wonderland"; and Jerica Parizek for Best Costume- a "Fireman". The annual Pre-Black Friday Boutique will be held at the City Building on Saturday, November 17^^. Local crafts, gifts and handmade items will be available for purchase. Admission is free. A Business License Hearing regarding the new Business License fees and regulations was held on October 18, 2018 during City Council Meeting. This year's election is administered by Weber County and a ballot drop box is available at City Hall. City Parks closed on October 15^'^ and will be winterized for the winter. The pressurized secondary water system was also shut down and will be winterized. Planning Commission Meeting - October 16. 2018 A Public Hearing was held on amending the architecture requirement of Chapter 15.18 in the Municipal Code. Amending this Ordinance will allow for more flexibility in the design of commercial buildings in our City. A Site Plan review for ConRock Recycling was approved by the Planning Commission, subject to several stipulations. In September they were granted a temporary occupancy until several requirements were met. They have now been approved for final occupancy of their new office building. An application for a one lot subdivision by Kim Slater at 250 S 2700 W was approved subject to certain stipulations. A Site Plan for a new commercial building at Mill Creek Plaza, 366 N 1900 W was approved, subject to certain stipulations. A Site Plan for PC Glass at 910 W 1700 S was approved subject to certain stipulations. A pending subdivision for Townhouse Estates Phase 5 was discussed by Commission members. This development was originally approved in the mid 1980's by Weber County, but was recently tabled by the Commission due to an issue with the proposed fire engine turn around on Phase |
