Wahlen Veterans Tribute Run and Chili Cook-Off will be held Saturday, October 13th. The event is co-sponsored by the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home and the First United Methodist Church to support the veterans residing at the Veterans Home. A 5K and lOK run/walk start at the Veterans Home located at 1102 North 1200 West at 10 AM, and end at the First United Methodist Church in Marriott-Slaterville. The chili cook-off begins at 10:30 AM. Awards will be presented to the top runners. To register visit: ww .fiimcoudcnui.oru. For questions please call 801-393-5662. 2018 Fall Clean-up Fall Clean-up is scheduled for October 20th and 21st. Dumpsters will be located at Marriott Park and at Slaterville Park. Please put all garbage completely inside the dumpster, not on the ground. This is a complimentary service, please be considerate of others using the dumpster. No tires or hazardous materials. Halloween Trunk-or-Treat This event is at Slaterville Park (250 N 2250 W) on Wednesday, October 31". Come circle the wagons together around the haunted grounds. Set-up at 4:30 PM. Treats start at 6:00 PM. Entry is free this year! Bring bags of candy to share with your neighbors. Enjoy a hot dog, chips, cookie, and a drink for $3. Come see the costumes and decorated trunks. If you have crafts, gifts, and handmade talent here is your chance to show it off and sell your wares. If you like to browse boutiques for local gifts come enjoy. The boutique is at the Marriott-Slaterville City Building, 1570 West 400 North from 12 AM until 6 PM each day. Admission is free. Vendor space is free and available inside and outside. Please bring your own tables. Inside space is 4'x8', and all materials must be freestanding. Set-up is Friday evening or Saturday morning. The City Council will hold a public hearing on October 18, 2018, at 6:30 PM regarding the new business license fees and regulations. 2018 Election. The election this year is administered by Weber County, call 801-399- 8400 for information. Ballot drop at City Hall. Property Taxes. The City does not levy a property tax. If you have a property tax question, contact Weber County at 801-399-8400. Parks Closing. City Parks will close and be winterized on October 15th. Pressurized Irrigation Closed. The pressurized secondary water system will be shut-down and winterized in early October. Recycling Program. Recycling in October will be on the 8th and 22nd. Public Safety Reminder. A lot of burglaries are happening in our neighboring cities, please lock your car and house at all times. Do not leave valuables in your car. 2-1-1 Get Answers.
