Show Marriott-Slaterville City History February 2018 The following business licenses were approved by the City Council: Old School Yard Maintenance and RT Lucero. In commemoration of Arbor Day the First United Methodist Church gave a presentation on their contribution to the City in the form of beautification to the southeast corner of 400 North last year. Staff discussed 2-1-1 services that are available to the community. 2-2-1 provides information and referrals to important health, human and community service programs. This service is free and available 24/7. There will be a meeting with UDOT on March 27, 2018 with Weber County and cities within the County area. At this meeting they will discuss and answer questions about federal aid transportation funding and programs of interest to local governments. A UDOT representative will be in attendance. Mr. Morris reviewed the Open and Public Meeting Rules of Procedure, and Duties and Power Manual with Council members. He also presented training on Prevention of Harassment, Discrimination, and Workplace Violence. The General Plan is out-dated and no longer meets state code. The Council approved updating of the General Plan by a company called Rural Community Consultants at a cost not to exceed $12,500.00. The water pump located at Toad's, which supplies water for the golf course and the City, is in need of replacement. Three bids have been obtained and the cost of replacement will be approximately $140,000.00. This cost will be divided equally between the City, the golf course and IHC, who currently owns that property. The pump will be maintained by Toad's until IHC develops the property. Council approved the City's estimated cost of $45,000.00. Council approved Resolution 2018-C supporting state legislation for victim targeting penalty enhancements. This Resolution came about as a result of swastikas and paper cups that are frequently displayed on the catwalk over the interstate. Bits and Pieces Zoe Mae Adam, daughter of Taylor and Shelby Adam was born on February 4, 2018. Layla Charlotte Oberg, daughter of Jessica and Jake Oberg was born on February 28, 2018. Matthew Steven Nielsen, 24, passed away on February 10, 2018. |
