Show Marriott-Slaterville City History June 2018 Marriott-Slaterville Monthly History June 2018 Summer is here! It turned hot quickly and even though a few brief rain showers fell throughout the month, June ended on an extremely dry note. Commencement of the annual 4*'' of July celebration will begin on Friday, June 22"^^ with the Eighteenth Annual Golf Tournament, followed by the big event at the Marriott Park on July 4th. Events include a 5K Run/Walk, breakfast at the Park sponsored by the LDS ward, a parade which begins at 10:30 am, lunch and lots of other activities. A Garden Market and Garage Sale will be held every Saturday morning at the City Hall beginning July 8^*^ through Labor Day weekend. The Mosquito Busters, a mosquito elimination service provider, will host its inaugural Family Awareness Fest on Saturday, June 30'^ as a culmination of the National Mosquito Control Awareness Week, June 24^*^ through 30'^. The Fest will be held at the Slaterville Park and will include a Red Cross Blood Drive, IK Family Fun Run, food, educational games and vendor booths, drawings, prizes and entertainment. Planning Commission Meeting-June 19. 2018 A one lot subdivision application submitted by Steve Slater at 2660 W 200 S was approved. The approval is contingent on several stipulations required by the Commission. A Public Hearing was held to receive input from residents regarding update of the General Plan. Comments from the public were noted and addressed by staff. Citv Council Meeting-June 21. 2018 Council approved two new Business Licenses; Penske Truck Leasing and Equality Real Estate. Ordinance 2018-05 increasing recycling fees based upon the increase of tipping fees from Weber County was approved. The increase takes effect July 1, 2018. The amended budget for FY 2017-18 and adoption of the tentative FY 2018-19 budget were approved. Resolution 2018-J approving the funding agreement with Weber County for Phase I realignment of Pioneer Road was approved, along with conditional acceptance of improvements at the Tippetts Subdivision. Final discussion for the upcoming 4"^ of July events occurred. |
