Show Monday, July 3, 1933. A telegram from Oscar saying Robert Rich Russell was born this A.M. Oertel feeling as well as could be expected. She has not been very well so thankful she is through. Dr Layton & wife of Columbus Ohio called. Norma Cozzens Toohill of N.Y. came this morning. She has a sweet child Joan. She is my niece. Twelve of us Myrene & Kiddies, Myrelle, Justin, DOrrs family of four and Norma. We had picnic & children had a good time. This evening I wrote Thair, Mary and Avon. Retire early. Tuesday, July 4, 1933. Quiet Fourth. A beautiful day. Put out the Flag prepared breakfast. Norma C Loohill and baby Joan are visiting us. Dr took Norma Joan and I over to see the childrens parade with decorated doll buggies tricicles, by cycles horses wagons, carts etc about two hundred took part. This was put over by the city teachers who have charge of the children in the public parks for summer. I prepared a nice dinner and this afternoon Norma went out to DOrrs her brother. Dr & I have been reading David very interesting. Junior, Myrene & Kiddies called. Norma is here tonight. |
