Saturday, September 9, 1933. Palmyra N.Y. stayed over nite sixty mi south from Buffalow arrived at Palmyra about noon Joseph Smith lived here in 1832. Visited the Smith farm the room where the Prophet recd his momsx xxx of Angel Maroni also room the room where the Book of Mormon was written from the plates taken from the Hill Cumorah. A very well preserved home. Also visited the Sacrad Grove a short distance from the home crossed over a small stream back of the barn in which some of the first baptisms were made. Bro & Sister Bean are keepers of the Smith farm & we very nice to us. Visited Hill Cumorah and rejoiced to have had the privelige to visite these sacred places and learn more about them. Visited East Elbert Hubards home now his Suns Craft Shop. Lovly place. Over mile S of here. Sunday, September 10, 1933. Kirtland Ohio. We drove some fifty miles this A.M. and arrived at Kirtland Temple for Reorganized L.D.S. Church services after which we were shown thro the Temple which is now used for their meetings. It was here that the Aronic Priestood was given the Prophet Joseph & Sidney Rigdon & here that the keys of the doing work for the dead were given by Elijah The School of the Prophets was held in the upper rooms of this Temple. Our next stop was at Hyram. We ate lunch here in Hill Top Tavern built in 1806. It was near here where Jos Smith & Sidney Rigdon were tared & feathered. Many of the old homes of our people still stand & are in use. Visited Pres. McKinleys Monument in his home town Canton.Arrived in Columbus at ten P.M.
