Show Monday, November 6, 1933. Did some shopping today. After preparing lunch I went to a meeting of Ladies Auxiliary to Weber Co Medical at Ben Loman Hotel. A very interesting programme. Dr Joseph Morrell told in what way we could be of assistance to the Community also to the Drs in in making popular different parts of their work which is not understood etc. Mrs Ezra Rich was retired as president of the past year & other officers. Mrs Sidney Badcon Pres elect took chair with Mrs Moyes & Mrs Edward I Rich (myself) being elected Vic Pres. Sat up late to listen to election return. Tuesday, November 7, 1933. This A.M. we learn that Harmon Perry won over Wm Rackham for Mayor of Ogden, George OConner for Comissioner over Bishop Sanders & Mrs Collins over Florence Glines. Utah also was voted wet so all my work for dry was of no avail. Utah was the 36th state to go wet making the repeal of the 18 amendment passiable. The outside towns were the L.D.S. were in the majority were for dry. All of the election was a disappointment to Dr & me. We have always been dry and still are and hope to remain so. |
