During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Thursday, August 24, 1933. This has been a very full day packing and trying to take as little clothing a I can be comfortable with. Had my hair shampooed and finger waved. Cleone came down to help me get ready. The last thing could not find my ticket but went to depot without it & Junior followed & brought it. Cleone found it where it was misplaced. To my surprise at the depot members of my R.S. Board had come to see me off & brought many delicious things to eat a basket of fruit boxes of candy, cakes etc and best of all a letter from each to be read along my way. My only regret in leaving was to leave my dear sweet heart. Friday, August 25, 1933. Sailing along on the U.P Los Angeles Limited, but did not rest so good one seldom does his first nite on a train. This is a Special train and our Party consists of 85 people only six men, and such lookers except Bro Noble who is very gentell and fine also has his wonderful little English wife with him. A very nice congenial crowd with Mrs Vida Fox Clawson in charge. We arrived at Denver at 1150 A.M. where Autos in charge of L.D.S. missionaries took us upto Mt. Look Out we we visited Buffalow Bills Museum and grave, also saw some of buisness district. Boarded our train at 405 and had a nice dinner in diner. An enjoyable day. |
