Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

Have been getting some of Myras histories ready for mailing Paid for the cuts for her history today 170. Listened to President Eisenhours message to Congress yesterday very good. Red letters from Margaret, Thairs wife. She is in Valley Forge Hospital for another op on her hip today. Letter from Taylor Peery Saturday, January 8, 1955 Nice day, but cold about 0 degrees last night. I have been home all day but this evening Oertel and I went down to Mrs G.L. Beckers for a nice dinner and a pleasant evening. I have read and got out some of Mothers biography for mailing. Recd letters from Ben L Rich. Mrs Clair Stout Wash D.C. and Dick Peery of Palo Alto Cal and wrote to Margaret Col Thairs wife and Ralph W Hardy & family Wash D.C. Recd letter from LeGrande Humphreys Logan Sunday, January 9, 1955 Clear nice day still cold, but pleasant. I attended Ward Priesthood and Sunday School and eveng meeting Oertel and I had dinner at Dr Jrs & Blanchs Dr Jr & Wife expect to leave Salt Lake Air port at 2 a.m. for visit with their son in aw Dr Marvin Lewis & Wife and Children in Philadelphia and other Relatives to gone about 10 days I have read some. Nothing special Jany 10th Recd Xcard and letter from Adam Patterson and his Wife Dorothea from New Zeland dated Dec 1st 1954. Mrs Patterson died of heart attack and she died shortly after in New Zeland at Christs Church Very sad Monday, January 10, 1955 Little more snow last night and snowed about 4 inches today I have been home all day Cleone called just after noon and helped with books and took some down to mint. I have read and wrote long letter to Ruth Rich who is in Wash D.C. a graduate nurse and a dear granddaughter. Thairs girl Many accidents due to snow and ice Have not heard from Dr Jr and Blanche They no doubt arrived in Philadelphia about noon today.
