She cant see very well and I am worried about her She has been to eye doctor yesterday and again today. Also marion Dr Crookston Letters from Mary, Ezra Paulsen came up to see me this a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 1955 Nice day. Oertel went down to Dr Wests and XRay of her head to see why she can not see well Nothing positive discovered. She seems quite worried and came home from office and has slept some this afternoon. I wrote to Mary and Olly Cozzens. Cleone and Royal called also Dr Jr she hase an appointment to see Dr Chister B Powell in Salt Lake about Oertel in the morning. Retire early Tribune July 27 55 7,600 in Dress She Steals 17 By Associated Press FORT WORTH, TEX., July 26 A widow with 7,600 pinned in her dress was charged Tuesday with stealing merchandise worth 17. Mrs. Janie Florence Smith, 76, who said she hasnt any home or family, was arrested at a store while trying to get a cash refund on the merchandise. She admitted taking it and asked a reporter Why should a woman my age do anything like that? It must have been an impulse. Mrs. Smith said she had been a companion to an elderly woman in Columbus, Ga., and was looking for work. She said she couldnt think of a safer place to keep her savings.
