Show Wednesday, June 7, 1933. Off for Cal at 8 A.M. we feel rested and fine to start our trip. Gailey Rich is married today. Dr explained over phone while in Salt Lake that we cannot be present at reception tonight. Very pleasant traveling all day in Juniors wonderful La Sail Roadster. Radio working O.K. and we feel like we are taking a honeymoon trip. We made Winnamucca about 930 PM having traveled 387 mi. a lovly cool day and not very tired. Stayed over nite at Humbolt Hotel. After a bite to eat and a look about town had a good bath & called it a day. Thursday, June 8, 1933. Gaylie Rich married to Alan E Brockbauck. Started about 730 have enjoyed the fine roads and have driven most of the time at 50 mi an hr. Over the desert on can see a wonderful straight road as far as the eye can see and you wonder how the Western Pioneers ever made such distances. Rute 40 to Reno. Arrived here about noon ate our lunch in such a historical pretty park a few miles beyond (Sandys) Bowers. Reno was very interesting and much larger City than I expected from here we took Rute 50 over Johnsons Pass to Placerville then South down Sutter Creek to So Sonora where we stayed all night. A very interesting mining town. Had time to see Lake Tahoe for an hr. much larger than I had thought. |
